I could not resist this painting when I saw it in a Lansing antique shop. It reminded me of a cross between Narnia and Where the Wild Things Are, and though I debated buying it for about 10 minutes, I am so glad I bought it. I snapped this photo while mulling the purchase at the shop.
The painting is called “A Peaceable Kingdom” by Quaker artist Edward Hicks. It is obviously a replica, but the frame is well-made and I just like the dang thing.
It’s currently hanging on my wall above my reading chair in my book room.
